The focus of my work most recently has been to capture my surrounds. I think all too often people go looking for that 'work of art' without stopping to recognise the beauty, not only in simplicity but in finding things in places they would not ordinarily look.
The beauty of the polaroid is not only is particular aesthetic but also its precious nature, it cannot be easily replicated and was never designed to be. Instantly you have an artwork that you can carry with you where ever you go, it's a comforting thought.

"Looking Down - Feeling Up"
"Flowers in the Nighttime"
These last two images I think are the most successful, not only aesthetically but also in illustrating what I am trying to say. When I glanced out the window one evening the sky was a stunning blue and suddenly there was a 'flight-streak' across a perfectly clear sky. It was such a simply but stunning moment, I just thought 'how many people are seeing this?'

This polaroid of a mushroom is beautiful in its tones and the shape of the mushroom. I love that it is out of focus and to me almost exudes a character of its own.
