Shooting in black and white is a very different way of thinking to colour. Personally, when I shoot black and white I have a focus on pattern, texture and detail.
When I was working out in the garden with my family I started to notice patterns and textures on their bodies I wanted to capture. It's interesting to note natural curves and lines we find on ourselves that are also present in nature, the pattern of hair could be similar to the line of a stone wall, or the curve of a shell.
Go looking for a new pattern or texture today...
